Dixie Chicks

Here's a great article by Dorothy Woodend entitled "Americans Are Crazy: 'Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing' makes it too clear", an article about the massive backlash against the Dixie Chicks over one trivial - and right-on - comment lead singer Natalie Maines made about Bush back in 2003 in the lead-up to the invasion of Iraq. The article is also a review of "Shut Up and Sing", the new film about the whole backlash - which included the blacklisting of the band by country radio and even some death threats - and the band's response to it all over the past three years.
