The All I Am Saying Is Give Todd A Chance Mini-Rave
Ok, so you've read my "Todd Snider Rave" that I sent out two weeks ago, yet somehow you're still hesitant, resistant even, to rush out and buy Todd's latest album. I don't know what that's all about because I think I made a pretty persuasive case for both Todd and his new album's greatness. But perhaps what you need is a second opinion. Well, you'll certainly find one if you click on the link below. Check it out, then go make that purchase and become a member of the small, lucky group of people who have discovered the often-hilarious wit, fantastic songwriting, wonderful sound and all-round great music of Todd Snider.
Ok, so it's not music for EVERYONE's taste, but for anyone who's into the music of The Bob, Neil Young, John Prine, John Fogerty, The Band, Lucinda Williams, Tom Waits, Steve Earle, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Randy Newman, Tom Petty, Joni Mitchell or Van Morrison, I can almost guarantee you that you're going to dig Todd... big time! Obviously, as you can tell by looking at that list, if you're strictly a rap and hip hop fan or exclusively an old-school Parliament/Funkadelic, James Brown funk dude then Todd Snider will most likely NOT be, as James would say, your brand new bag. For the rest of you, however, it's time to open your minds, your hearts and your ears to the brilliance of Todd.
Recently I've been listening to the new album, "The Devil You Know", just about every day and, far from becoming bored, I've become more and more captivated by it with each listen; which is exactly the same experience I had with the other albums of his that I own. I'm telling you, it's great stuff! All I am saying, people, is give Todd a chance.
