"Visions of Johanna"

As Chance Gardener so succinctly put it in "Being There", I like to watch. Whether we're talking about the neurotic genius of Woody Allen, the violent masterworks of Quentin Tarantino, the gritty realism of John Cassavetes, the magical surrealism of Federico Fellini, the comic insanity of Monty Python, or the all-round brilliance of Martin Scorsese, great films stay with you forever. Especially those you've seen half a dozen times. "Goodfellas", "Pulp Fiction", "Blue Velvet", "Annie Hall", "Monty Python's Life of Brian", "Down By Law", these are the kind of films I can watch over and over and over again. As with music, the great stuff never ceases to inspire.
